Triumph Bonneville
Project: EL CARMEN

This project was based on one of the most common motorcycles out there, the Triumph Bonneville. It ́s a bike from 2005 and it ́s one of several Bonnies that we produced until today. Our goal with this one was very different from the usual projects based on Bonnies. We wanted to see how far we can go if we can use all the best equipment out there. It was of course a project ordered from a client.

We started with a list of major goals. We wanted to put it powerful, lighter as possible, with better handling, better brakes possible, and the best suspensions. And that ́s what we did. We searched for the best equipment available in the marker and we fitted it there! There were several obstacles on this process. It was not easy to fit in the front wheel on the Ohllins kit and Brembo brakes, since the offset was completely wrong. Another issue was the battery box, has we wanted to hide it as much as possible this part. We used 2 small lithium battery ́s under the seat, and was not easy task to fit all electrics there. Here is a list of all the major equipment on this bike: New carbon handlebar, break and clutch levers from Brembo, front suspension, triple trees, front break disc, front break, front headlight, Rizoma oil cups, speedo, tank cover, lithium batteries, new air admission, transmission, tyres, back fender, seat, and Zard exhaust system... When we look at this list, we think we miss some Kineo wheels on the pack!

Despite the final result it ́s a Bonnie with a modern look, our inspiration on the design was a simple and elegant classic approach. I think this mix made this bike something very unique and chic, and of course a very exclusive piece. The overall look it ́s even controversial on our team, because it ́s too much! But of course the root to this joy was something that our client wanted, so there are always some limitations regarding this. In the final, we think that this is for sure the best equipped bike we have ever done, and the bike that performs better. It ́s a huge difference riding this or an original Bonnie. We forget that this is the same bike. Although it seems like a 2014 bike! It handles amazing, and it roars like a thunder! One thing is certain, this motorcycle will not go unnoticed, on the Lisbon streets!
